Fusion [Retracted post]
This post is retracted, because it includes information that might be incorrect, and really needs to be worked on before re-publishing.
Hi, I’m Kris. Yes, that one. I used to be two members: Null and Yori. This is a very recent development, at time of writing.
What will be done about this:
- Historical markings will be left to sit. Writing as ‘Null’ or ‘Yori’ will stay as such.
- Any new writings by me will be under Kris on this website.
- Null and Yori have been removed from /sys/, as they are not extant anymore.
About Fusion
Fusion is the process of two members becoming one. This is something that happens sometimes. This is not to be confused with final fusion, the outdated therapistic goal of ‘unpluralising’ a patient who might have Dissociative Identity Disorder, or such. Some systems may strive for that, and that is their choice, but it is not the majority goal.
We did not fuse, as in, it is not an event that happened. It always was. It only became evident when it was perceived to be true, then it was always. I don’t feel any grief about it because of this. Sometimes I feel sad about losing a name, but it is fine. I can still be called under those names if I feel that way.
About me
This has led to great clarity about my self. ‘Before’, I was split in half between an entity that was cold, distant, unfeeling, and an entity that was constantly full of anxiety, unrest, disregard for the human form. I can say that I am not scared to be human anymore. It is also clear that I hold some sort of deep-seated trauma, one that can be used to ‘prove’ that I have been around a lot longer than others in the system, to childhood perhaps. I hold parts of memories that nobody else can. But I am not omniprescent in this cage. It’s still hard for me, most times, to remember.
About Kris
Spoilers for Deltarune
I have a lot of thoughts about Kris, in the narrative. One thing is clear: Kris is more than one. The player, you, are inhabiting the body of them. So who am I? I’m the Kris that the player isn’t, whoever they are. We don’t see too much of them in the story. We see them walk around like a zombie, open Dark Fountains, take orders from the phone, play the piano.
If you have a dissociative disorder like me, it should be fairly obvious that Kris has one to you, like it is to me. It should be clear to you that Kris is also the most interesting character in Deltarune.
I could keep spelling out why Kris is dissociative, why there are so interesting, but you (smart reader) can figure this out. You don’t need me to write an essay. If you need some help (or just want to look at awesome Kris art) read these.
