Pluraltrans

On being Plural and Transgender: it sucks.

Forced androgyny

Androgyny. Looking like ‘either sex’. It’s basically the only way we can deal with this? We have both masculine-presenting and feminine-presenting members in this body.

I have to say, we pass as androgyne quite well. Most women we talk to clock us as some sort of nonbinary person. Men uhh… usually think we’re a man.

I’m a GNC trans woman. In that, I’m a woman, but I don’t dress like one. Or: I don’t conform to the gender standards that are placed upon women. This means I dress sort of like… a twink? If that makes sense? Allow me to use the word in a non-weird way.Like a small soft boy, is how I want to be perceived. Well, I want to be perceived as a woman, but also as a woman trying to look like a small soft boy. But not a boy.

Androgyny helps with this, because being androgyne is secretly: just being boy-shaped. The typical idea of a nonbinary identity is just to look like a boy. As in, not a man. A soft not-yet-male.

I want to look like Kris Deltarune. To be more specific, I like dressing…. emo? Sort of edgy. I recently got these big black cargo pants, and I love how they look on me. I hate the way our glasses look. Sample: o-o. I would prefer something more… square. Or to get contact lenses (especially if I can get red-sclera ones…)

Dressing like an edgy boy is… fine. But sometimes I will dress with a long skirt. I’m agender, these things don’t mean much to me. I dress how I like.

I’m a girl! Hi! I like skirts and dresses and stuff.

Impermanence

If you live in normal transfeminine spaces, you will hear a lot of discussion about things like: surgery, hormones, et cetera. If you’re pluraltrans, this might be a lot harder to grapple with. What if the pre-transition version of you lives on? What if they come back one day, will they get gender dysphoria? You would hate to inflict gender dysphoria on someone, wouldn’t you?

This hasn’t stopped us from getting hormones. Most of us are either happy or indifferent to them. I think this will probably stop us from getting any ‘surgeries’, though. The feelings are just too complex to weave through. Most trans women have a… complicated relationship with their body, and we have about 7 (and growing!) of those to deal with. It’s okay, though. Probably.

i guess this is a bit of a weird experience that i don’t have within my own brain. isn’t that weird. but as the pre-discovery defacto ‘original’ i was always reticent to do anything like this. i knew i was trans – that was obvious, but i always felt this pull away from some things, i guess. it felt bad, like i was not having the typical trans experience and that made me fake or something. though it’s not like i have a typical binary trans identity either. i’m deer-aligned. i’m therian-ish. i also probably put the least effort into my appearance out of all of us, which is fun.
